The university’s third mission – social involvement and services for the community
The Department of Neuroscience, Biomedicine and Movement is heavily involved in academic dissemination within a local context as well as nationally and internationally. Each year, the Department organises conferences and lectures open to the public, and participates in science festivals. Its academic staff are also invited to speak at conferences and seminars to share information with the local and national community.
DNBM is a national point of reference for many associations of patients and their family members. It also promotes and organises movement activities for the general public, from children to the elderly, and from elite athletes to people with movement difficulties. Additionally, the Department often proposes research projects in collaboration with local organisations and companies.
