Curriculum

Il prof. Giovanni Gotte si è laureato in Chimica nell’Università degli Studi di Padova ed ha successivamente conseguito il Dottorato di Ricerca in Scienze Biochimiche nell’Università degli Studi di Verona. I suoi interessi scientifici sono rivolti allo studio del rapporto struttura-funzione di alcune ribonucleasi secretorie di tipo pancreatico. L’attenzione è rivolta soprattutto ai meccanismi di oligomerizzazione controllata di queste ribonucleasi, sia tramite introduzione di legami crociati covalenti sia tramite auto-associazione spontanea o indotta. In particolare, si valuta l’effetto di molti di questi oligomeri sull’aumento dell’attività enzimatica su alcuni RNA, e sul loro possibile effetto citotossico nei confronti di diverse linee cellulari tumorali, anche in associazione con farmaci, ma anche il loro possibile ruolo in patologie neurodegenerative. In collaborazione con altri colleghi, l’obiettivo ultimo è quello di approntare strategie terapeutiche basate su questi oligomeri da utilizzare contro patologie tuttora non curabili.
