EVENTUALE PROGETTO IN LINGUA STRANIERA
The project aims at verifying the suitability of a preventive sanitization with gaseous ozone in the fruttaio to limit the development of Botrytis cinerea (and associated opportunistic pathogens) on grapes for Amarone wine production during withering. To evaluate the efficacy of the treatment we will apply an innovative multimodal image approach. Light microscopy will allow a general evaluation of the pathogens on the berry, and scanning and electron microscopy will reveal the relationships of pathogens with skin and pulp. Since the berry skin and the mycelium have peculiar autofluorescence features, optical imaging analysis will allow to monitor the interactions pathogen-skin through spectral modifications of the fluorescent emission. Nuclear magnetic resonance will provide information on the amount and distribution of water, sugars and lipids in whole berries, thus allowing to monitor the dehydration process.
