Curriculum

My main research interest is to better understand the immunopathological mechanisms involved in multiple sclerosis and in particular in cortical grey matter pathology. I have paid particular attention to the inflammatory response and the role of lymphoid-like structures in the meningeal compartment of post-mortem MS cerebral tissues and in the intrathecal inflammation generated in the cerebrospinal fluid analysis of MS patients. This with the main aim to identify possible neuroimmunological mechanisms involved in multiple sclerosis and potential new biomarkers of the different disease phenotypes and of MS progression.
