Curriculum

L'interesse scientifico della Prof.ssa Ilaria Dando si articola in due principali progetti riguardanti lo studio di malattie neoplastiche e l'analisi in vitro di tessuti derivanti da pazienti con patologie andrologiche. 

In merito al cancro, particolare attenzione è rivolta alla caratterizzazione delle cellule staminali tumorali (CSC) dell'adenocarcinoma duttale del pancreas, andando a studiarne principalmente le caratteristiche metaboliche con l'obiettivo di identificare alterazioni specifiche, utili per la scoperta di nuovi marcatori diagnostici precoci e per lo sviluppo di nuove strategie terapeutiche efficaci.

Per quanto riguarda le patologie andrologiche, tramite l'utilizzo di un innovativo approccio biochimico e molecolare, gli obiettivi principali sono l'identificazione di vie di segnale attivate a seguito del trattamento di cellule primarie testicolari e para-testicolari con ormoni e lo studio delle alterazioni intracellulari che caratterizzano set di pazienti affetti da criptorchidismo, torsione testicolare e infertilità.
