Overview
This course is for everyone who is interested in acquiring the methodological knowledge and practical skills necessary for designing and conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses following the Cochrane Collaboration's international method. The course will also enable participants to acquire methodological knowledge and practical skills for constructing guidelines based on effectiveness tests according to the GRADE method. Participants will use computer software to manage and analyse data. At the end of the course, participants will be able to: create a protocol for systematic revisions; use search strategies to find articles from the revision; use specific software to extract data; use computer software to analyse data; and produce evidence-based guidelines. Students will also learn basic rules for writing high-impact scientific articles. The course encourages participants to be actively involved by interspersing lectures with practical activities, to be carried out individually or in small groups. Expert tutors are available at all times to supervise these activities.
