This course aims to train professionals who assist patients affected by neurological disease with cognitive disorders as a secondary disability. In particular, it addresses the training needs of care pathway managers, or care workers in healthcare or residential structures, by taking a deeper look into pathophysiology, assessment, clinical manifestations and means of stimulating patients with cognitive disorders. Issues related to attention disorders, memory disorders, communication disorders and mood disorders will be discussed in detail. Additionally, the course will cover fundamental theories and practices inherent in the management of care pathways, as well as how those who operate in the sector should interact with the patient and their family, paying special attention to the role of a multidisciplinary team.
Upon completion of the course, participants who already have a Bachelor or Postgraduate degree of any kind will be awarded an “Advanced” certificate. Participants with a secondary school diploma will be awarded a “Professional development” certificate.
