Learning outcomes

Description of the discovery, the origin and epidemiology of HIV.
Description at the molecular level of the infectious cycle, structure, morphology, genome variability and serotypes.
Description of the infection, pathogenesis, genetic resistance to the virus.
Therapeutic approaches, development of new drugs and microbicides, issues related to the development of the vaccine, new therapeutic perspectives.
