SIVO is an Erasmus+ project dedicated to making sports accessible to everyone, in particular to individuals with disabilities, by creating communities where people with and without disabilities can play together, while fostering social inclusion, personal development, and equal opportunities through sports.
This project is fully aligned with the core priorities and strategic guidelines outlined in the Erasmus+Programme Guide for the Sport chapter, particularly regarding "Promoting education in and through sport with a focus on skills development". Sitting volleyball, as a discipline that naturally integrates individuals with and without physical disabilities, provides a unique platform for addressing social inclusion, equal opportunities, and solidarity.
The initiative is also consistent with the European Union Work Plan for Sport (2021–2024), which calls for strengthened synergies between health, education, and sport sectors. Additionally, the project contributes to the EU Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021–2030, by fostering environments that empower people with disabilities to actively participate in physical activities.
