Overview
This is an international course taught entirely in English and includes supervision by overseas academics and professionals. The course is contextualised within a scientifically well-recognised field and validates the role of exercise as an instrument in primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare prevention, in particular for diabetes. According to the World Health Organization (2005 report), diabetes is one of the primary causes of death by non-transmissible disease in the world, and the absence, insufficiency or ineffectiveness of physical exercise in people's everyday life is a crucial risk factor for developing this disease. The course is based on these assumptions and aims to provide a complete picture of diabetes, from scientific literature and international guidelines, to defining the clinical history of the pathology, in order to enable course participants to design, organise and manage physical activity plans adapted to each individual patient.
