D. Papola is a psychiatrist and PhD Candidate at WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Mental Health and Service Evaluation - Department of Neuroscience, University of Verona (Head: Prof. Corrado Barbui). He is currently involved in research projects regarding:
- The evaluation of efficacy and acceptability of psychotropic drugs through designing and performing epidemiological, observational and experimental studies, as well as systematic reviews, meta-analyses and umbrella reviews;
- The evaluation of the efficacy and acceptability of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions for the treatment of mental health disorders in people with severe medical conditions;
- Global mental heath and mental health of refugees;
- The 
efficacy and acceptability of psychotherapies for anxiety disorders.

CLINICAL PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY AND DRUG-EPIDEMIOLOGY
The main research interests of the Unit include: (a) pharmaco-epidemiology, oriented to describe the beneficial and harmful effects of psychotropic drugs in ordinary practice; (b) randomized controlled trials, oriented to assess the efficacy and tolerability profile of psychotropic drugs in experimental conditions; (c) systematic reviews, oriented to summarize clinical trial findings using meta-analytical techniques.
