Curriculum

Paola Zamparo graduated in Biology at the University of Trieste in 1987; she worked for about 20 years in the filed of Exercise Physiology at the University of Udine and, at present, she is associate professor of Biomechanics at the University of Verona. She did her PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University (UK) and she is author of more than 70 papers published in international scientific, peer-reviewed journals. Her main filed of interest is the interplay between the biomechanics and energetics of human locomotion: i. e. how the mechanical determinants of cyclic sports activities (such as cycling, swimming and running) influence their physiological responses.

Le attività di ricerca di questo gruppo affrontano e sviluppano le tematiche relative ai meccanismi del controllo motorio e dei fenomeni psicobiologici legati al movimento umano nonché gli aspetti biomeccanici propri delle attività motorie e sportive sia in laboratorio che in condizioni di effettiva attuazione in vari contesti di pratica .
Fisiologia dell’esercizio
il gruppo di ricerca svolge attività di ricerca su tutti gli aspetti fisiologici, dai livelli molecolari a quelli dell’essere umano in toto, necessari per lo svolgimento dell’esercizio fisico e delle attività sportive, in particolare per gli ambiti dell’energetica e della funzione muscolare, del sistema cardiovascolare e respiratorio
