Curriculum

Cinzia Perlini is Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology (PSIC-04/B) at the Department of Neuroscience, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences of the University of Verona. He obtained a degree in Clinical and Community Psychology in 2002 from the University of Padua and a Doctorate in Psychological and Psychiatric Sciences from the University of Verona in 2009. For over 20 years he has been studying the anatomical and neuropsychological correlates of various psychological and psychiatric disorders. More recently, his research interest has also included the psychological aspects related to the presence of organic disease and chronic pain. Since 2018, he has also been Psychologist and Psychoterapist at the University Hospital of Verona, with psychological and psychotherapeutic support activities for patients of the Polyclinic. To date, it has over 100 publications in national and international journals, and she is involved in various scientific editorial initiatives.

RESEARCH UNIT ON BRAIN IMAGING AND NEUROPSYCHOLOGY
The main focus of the research Unit is to achieve a better understanding of neurobiological underpinnings of major psychiatric disorders (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, unipolar depression and autism) and to study the possible connection with outcome, neuropsychological and biological measures. The aim of our research group is to increase the knowledge of possible neural circuitry in these disorders and to study the timing and development of the neuroanatomical alterations, in order to achieve a better knowledge for an early detection and treatment of these disorders.
