The benefits of physical activity are scientifically well-known and proven. The Masters programme, now in its fourth year, aims to produce exercise professionals with particular expertise in functional assessment and exercise programming for people with exercise-sensitive pathologies. It responds to an industry need for professionals in the field who can work in a team, having specific practical skills in carrying out and managing work protocols. The programme focuses on people with chronic-degenerative diseases who can gain significant benefit from appropriate regular physical activity.
The course is structured to provide a foundation for participants to be able to examine cases from both medical and motor aspects, thereby stimulating a strong, fruitful collaboration between the medical and exercise science fields in order to provide effective exercise programmes. Graduates of the Masters programme will be able to use appropriate tools for exercise assessment and prescription based on quantitative, verifiable information.
