Dr. Ranieri has a main research interest in the study of physiology and pathophysiology of the motor system, sensorimotor integration, and brain plasticity in humans. He owns specific expertise in the application of methods of non-invasive brain stimulation (transcranial magnetic and electric stimulation) to investigate and modulate brain circuit function, and to study the mechanisms of interaction of these techniques with the nervous system.

He obtained his Medical Degree and PhD Degree in Neuroscience at the Catholic University of Rome and then he worked as post-doctoral researcher at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome, Italy.

As a clinical neurologist, he principally dedicates to the electrodiagnosis of peripheral and central nervous system disorders (electromyography, evoked potentials), and to the diagnosis and treatment of cephalalgias.
